Hi Guys,

Researchers at Check Point Research (CPR) have found a security flaw in WhatsApp for both iOS and Android that, if exploited, could allow attackers to gain access to your device. According to CPR, attackers can exploit the issue by applying image filters to a specially crafted image and sending it to a target. When the target opens the image, they open a hole into their device, which the attacker can exploit to gain a foothold. Image filters in WhatsApp allow you to change the color, saturation, tone, sharpness, and more of a photo taken. All you need to do is open a weaponized image.

To protect yourself from this type of attack, please update WhatsApp now to version 2.21.2.13.

Please let me know if you need any help with this? Please also let anyone you know who uses WhatsApp to get this update.

Thanks and have a great day.
