How are you today?
GO SMS Pro, a popular messaging app for Android and IOS with over 100 million installs, has been found to have a serious security flaw that allows anyone at all to view messages transferred between users including private voice messages, photos, and videos.
According to Trustwave SpiderLabs, the flaw was spotted in version 7.91 of the app, which was released on the Google Play Store in February 2020. They contacted the app maker several times and after they got zero responses they decided to go public.
This bug has not been fixed yet so if you are a user of this app I strongly recommend that you stop using it until the developers fix this issue. If I were you I would also stop using this app completely. How many other flaws have yet to be discovered and will the developer even do anything about it? At the moment there is a massive hole that they are aware of and it remains unfixed.
I will let you know as soon as this issue has been resolved.
Thanks and have a great day.
