Hi Guys,
Enabling 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) adds a significant and critical layer of security that can prevent attackers from taking over your account. If you are not already using it, I suggest you take 5 mins to set it up now. With 2FA in place, anyone who tries to gain access to your account will need to enter a code that you set up, and if they do not have it, they will not be able to gain access. Without 2FA in place, your account is a sitting duck for attackers. Here is how you set it up for Android and iOS.
Enable two-step verification
- Open WhatsApp Settings.
- Tap Account > Two-step verification > Enable.
- Enter a six-digit PIN of your choice and confirm it.
- Provide an email address you can access or tap Skip if you don’t want to add an email address. They recommend adding an email address as this allows you to reset two-step verification, and helps safeguard your account.
- Tap Next.
- Confirm the email address and tap Save or Done.
Disable two-step verification:
- Open WhatsApp Settings.
- Tap Account > Two-step verification >Disable > Disable.
Change your two-step verification PIN
- Open WhatsApp Settings.
- Tap Account > Two-step verification > Change PIN.
Add an email address
- Open WhatsApp Settings.
- Tap Account > Two-step verification > tap Add Email Address.
Change an email address
- Open WhatsApp Settings.
- Tap Account > Two-step verification > tap Change Email Address.
Please let me know if you need any help with this or with anything else.
Thanks and have a great day,
