Hi Guys,
Did you know that WhatsApp collects a significant amount of information about you and shares it with Meta (The new name for Facebook) and many of their partners?
You can read about what they collect in their privacy policy HERE, but in a nutshell, they collect information under the following categories:
* Your account information
* Your messages
* Your contact information
* Status information
* Location
* IP address and device information
* Cookies
* Transaction and payment data
* Usage and log information
As you can see from the above list, WhatsApp collects a significant amount of data about you. They share it with all sorts of companies, and in some cases, government agencies posing as private companies. (Various three letter agencies work with private companies all the time to get access to data.
If you want to find out precisely what they know about you, follow these steps to request a full breakdown:
* Open WhatsApp
* Go to Settings
* Tap Account
* Select Request Account Info
Note: It takes three days for WhatsApp to compile your report and make it available for download. You’ll receive a notification within the app when it’s ready.
Let me know if you need any help with this.
Sending you the best,
Max Roberts,
Incognito Privacy Care Team.
