Hi everyone,
Max Roberts here 🙂
Exciting news! Finally, Google has adopted end-to-end encryption for their messaging application. This advanced technology, known as RCS, is the modern standard for dynamic and secure messaging. Now, all of your conversations in Messages by Google are privately encrypted, even in group chats, ensuring that only you and the people you’re messaging can see the content.
Now for the details: RCS will be enabled by default for most new and existing users, providing this increased security seamlessly. If you want to manage this feature yourself, here’s how to turn RCS on or off:
To Turn RCS On:
- Open the Messages by Google app.
- Tap on the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select “Settings.”
- Choose “Chat features.”
- Toggle the switch to enable RCS (it will be colored when turned on).
To Turn RCS Off:
- Open the Messages by Google app.
- Tap on the three dots in the top-right corner.
- Select “Settings.”
- Choose “Chat features.”
- Toggle the switch to disable RCS (it will be grayed out when turned off).
Please note that if you have previously turned off RCS, it won’t be enabled by default. Additionally, some users might need to agree to their carrier network’s Terms of Service to use this feature.
I encourage you to explore more about RCS and its many benefits. The adoption of end-to-end encryption by Google is a significant step forward in secure communication, and I’m always here to assist you with these technological advancements.
Stay secure, Max Roberts
