Hi guys,

Today I want to share a cautionary tale about Revolut scams. Revolut is an online bank offering various financial services. Recently, a victim reported losing a substantial amount of money due to sophisticated scammers. This is a stark reminder to stay vigilant. Here’s the story:

A Revolut user received a message from someone claiming to be a Revolut representative. The scammer used a convincing website and official-looking communication to lure the victim into transferring money. Despite the user’s suspicion, the scammer’s professionalism and urgency led them to make the transfer. The victim lost thousands of Euros and, unfortunately, Revolut denied the refund, stating the user authorized the payment.

Common Revolut Scams to Watch Out For

  1. Investment Scams: Scammers pose as investment advisors promising high returns. Victims transfer money to what they believe are investment accounts but are actually scammer-controlled.
  2. Purchase Scams: Fake sellers convince you to pay for goods or services that don’t exist. Once the payment is made, the scammer disappears.
  3. Phishing Scams: Fraudulent emails or texts that look like they’re from Revolut ask for your login credentials or other personal information.
  4. Fake Support Scams: Scammers impersonate Revolut support, asking for your account details or convincing you to transfer money to resolve a non-existent issue.

How to Avoid These Scams

  • Verify the Source: Always check the sender’s email or phone number. Revolut will only use official channels.
  • Do Not Share Personal Information: Never give out your login credentials, passwords, or other sensitive data.
  • Use In-App Support: Contact Revolut directly through their app for any concerns.
  • Stay Skeptical: Be wary of offers that seem too good to be true or demand immediate action.
  • Educate Yourself: Keep informed about the latest scams and how to recognize them.

  1. Contact Revolut Immediately: Use the in-app chat.
  2. Report the Scam: Email the details to Revolut’s support team.
  3. Forward the Scam Message: Send it to me through the app.

Always stop, take a breath, and if you’re unsure, ask me. Stay safe out there!

Sending you all the best,
