Hello,
I hope you are well. Another article, another exploit!
Citizen Lab’s recent report uncovers massive shortcomings in the security of iOS devices, outlining how these devices are incredibly vulnerable to government attacks. Contrary to popular opinion, the research indicates that iOS is far from secure, with three known exploits found last year alone proving the system’s vulnerabilities. Read more about these shocking findings directly here at Citizen Lab.
One particularly concerning aspect of these vulnerabilities is the “zero-click” nature of the attacks. Traditionally, installing spyware on a device requires physical access or user involvement. However, with zero-click infections, attackers can breach a target’s device without user interaction. This raises questions about how many unknown exploits may exist and which have already been used and decommissioned by various entities.
Journalists, whistleblowers, and others in potentially vulnerable fields should consider contacting our Privacy Care team for advice on protecting themselves. While it is impossible to guarantee complete privacy against zero-day Apple attacks, there are steps that can be taken to mitigate the risk posed by high-end attack tools.
All the best,
Max
