New Android Features: Protect Your Data Before, During, and After Theft

Google is rolling out three new features for Android to protect your data before, during, and after a theft. These include:

  1. Factory Reset Upgrade: Prevents thieves from resetting your device without your credentials.
  2. Theft Detection Lock & Offline Device Lock: Automatically lock your screen and protect your data when stolen.
  3. Remote Lock: Allows you to lock your screen with just your phone number and a security challenge.

These features are particularly useful for those who have experienced phone theft. While you may not get your device back, your data remains safe. Remember to always back up your phone data so you can quickly restore it on a new device.
