Bruce Schneier recently shared an excellent article written by Vice about how the FBI gets location data from cell phone providers like AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. It looks like this article is based on a leaked 139-page presentation from 2019. Although this article only talks about carriers in the USA, you can be sure that a version of this is also happening in your country.
