A security vulnerability in Facebook Messenger meant attackers could access a victims private Facebook photos and videos and also submit posts via their Android lock screen. This means that a person could access your Facebook messenger account without unlocking your device.
This bug was found by a Nepalese security researcher named Samip Aryal, and the Facebook security team have already implemented a ‘hot fix’ for this bug. This means they have addressed this urgently and have released a new version of Facebook messenger just to address this serious vulnerability.
If you haven’t already, update your Facebook Messenger app to the newest version immediately.
