Hi guys,
I hope all is well with you.
In February 2023, a massive data breach at the fraud protection service Eye4Fraud was posted to a popular hacking forum. The breach impacted over 16 million accounts, including direct users of the service and individuals who had placed orders on other services that implemented Eye4Fraud for sales protection. The breached data, which included names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, and partial credit card data (card type and last 4 digits), was spread across 147 tables and totalled 65GB. Eye4Fraud did not respond to multiple attempts to report the incident.
If you have an account with Eye4Fraud, it’s essential to take immediate action to protect your information. Here are some steps you can take:
- Change your password and ensure it is at least ten characters long and contains an upper case, lower case, number, and symbol. Avoid using the same password twice, as this leaves you vulnerable to credential-stuffing attacks.
- Consider using a password management tool, such as 1Password, to generate and manage strong, unique passwords for your online accounts.
- Check your email address for any signs of compromise using Incognito’s Email Hack Check tool, which can tell you instantly if your email address has been involved in any recent data breaches.
By taking these steps, you can help protect yourself from the fallout of the Eye4Fraud data breach and similar cyber attacks. Remember to stay vigilant, practice good password hygiene, and use trusted online security tools to stay safe online. Protecting your information is more important than ever, and we are here to help. Take action today to keep yourself safe and secure online.
