Hi Guys,

Security researchers at Royal Holloway, University of London, have discovered a massive security flaw in the Amazon Alexa that allows remote hackers to execute audio commands. If you have an Alexa, you need to update it to the latest version to be protected.

By exploiting this now-patched vulnerability, a remote hacker could broadcast commands to itself or other smart speakers nearby, allowing them to do all sorts of nasty things, including but not limited to

* Start or turn off any smart appliances in your home.

* Unlock door locks

* Make phone calls

* Make unwanted purchases

* Listen to what you are saying

* Eavesdrop on you

How do you protect yourself:

Update Alexa to the latest version by saying, Check for software updates. The latest version fixes this security hole.

If you have time, read the paper from Sergio Esposito, Daniele Sgandurra, Giampaolo Bella at Royal Holloway by going to this link HERE.

I hope you have a great day ahead.

All the best,

Max Roberts,
