Hi guys,

I hope you are well and that this message finds you well. I wanted to update you on a major decision we have taken today.

We made a mistake pushing version 3.0 of Incognito, and we have decided to roll back to the previous version, which is more stable, easier to use, more robust and most importantly, to the version that best represents us as a team and as a community.

When we first started Incognito, its mission was simple: to find government and commercial Spyware that could be planted on a person’s phone without them knowing. I worked with all of the governments and all of the police forces in the world, and I saw how easy it was to spy and hard it was to defend against. Enter Incognito. Simple.

Our mission was always to find how these spy products hide and then give users a simple option to find and remove them on their phones. It’s a straightforward concept born from my many years working in the government surveillance world.

Over the years, we have successfully found Spyware and removed it from people’s phones. We have helped thousands of people worldwide from being spied on by their government, local law enforcement, wife, ex-husband, employers, et cetera et cetera.

We are the best in the world at this. After all, we understand how Spyware of all sizes works because we know how these companies engineer them for stealth, and most importantly, we know how to remove them. From this core concept, we started to get away from ourselves a little bit, and we began to enhance the product and upgrade the product. Still, while doing all of this, we were moving away from our core objective, which is to find and remove Spyware on a person’s device. There is an app for everything these days, but there is nothing like Incognito.

The new version of Incognito was very complicated; it did too many things and took the user away from finding Spyware and removing Spyware on their device. This new version was supposed to bring us closer to our goal, but in reality, it has moved us away from it. So, we decided to roll back to our previous version.

We spent a lot of money and time on this version That we are going to move away from, but it feels like the right thing to do. It just didn’t feel right. We are also listening to our users, and we know our most loyal users don’t like the new product; we know that new users who install it need clarification. It’s time to go back to simple things. It’s time to go back to what we are good at. And that is keeping people safe from Spyware.

You will see over the next few days that you’re going to be given a more stable version of Incognito. I give you my word that we will invest every hour, minute, and second, ensuring that this version is the best ever. We can do many things to improve and enhance, and that is what we should’ve done instead of making a new product.

I approved the development of version 3.0 during the worst time of my grief, after the loss of Jessica Jones. It’s tough to admit I was wrong in such an epic, but it’s the best position for the Incognito community. Back to basics, do the small things right and keep our users safe.

We are back 🙂 Simple 🙂

All the best, and talk to you soon,

Max Roberts,
