Hi guys,

Google has sent an urgent notification to Pixel users about an actively exploited vulnerability in the phone’s firmware. Firmware is the code embedded into hardware devices, acting as the software layer between the hardware and the applications. When there’s a problem with the firmware, it’s a big deal because it has unlimited access to the device and its operating system. Google has stated that the vulnerability is under limited, targeted exploitation, which could indicate state-sponsored attacks or government malware/spyware at play.

Even if you don’t have a Pixel phone, make sure you’re running the latest version of Android. Treat this as an urgent message. Your device and data are vulnerable without the latest updates and security patches. If you need any advice, let me know—I’m here to help you.

Sending you all the best,
Stephen McCormack
